Fantasy Novels: It's Not Very Ventilated Down There

Fantasy novels. A booming novel genre in the literature industry. But I must not agree with the expanding fan base of them. Dragons, witches, wizards and the supernatural powers do not strike my fancy. Why not write about real subjects concerning todays major population or things that interest the sporting, political or scientific societies. Make them intersting and incorporate real life scenarios and problems which face todays people. Not fake and fictional storylines and events which merely suggest lessons if you look deep inside the stroyline.
In the novel Stravaganza : City of Masks it was fairly slow, boring me to death and leaving me in annoyance of the fact that I must read it for school.
Because they are fake or fictional the stroylines are normally not relevant to things we do today and  many other things.
Maybe if the authors incorporate events that may come up in the future it may interst people like me and help us influence others to read fantasy novels.
